I wanted to take the time to talk to you about a new fad, it's called the intermittent fasting diet. It's an interesting, but extremely new way to take on weight loss. The reason it is getting popular is because a new study showed that people that did this were losing weight, had increased health benefits and were believed to live longers. I'm going to investigate this for you and hopefully educate you on this new way of losing weight.
What is an intermittent fasting diet?
The intermittent fasting diet is actually quite simple. The whole idea is that you eat for a full day. Anything you want, no matter if it is bad for you. The next day, you don't eat for the entire day. This is how the cycle repeats itself. You do temperary fasts for 24hr periods and get to eat for 24hrs.
This isn't a form of starvation. The studies that have been shown is that people eat two days worth of food on their eating day. Even taking in the same amount of food as their previous diet, they still lost weight.
Research
Recently a study came out where subjects were put on an intermittent fasting diet and the results were astonishing. Everyone was experiencing weight loss, various health issues improved and it was believed that people would live longer on a diet like this.
Is it natural?
A lot of people don't think this is natural, but is eating three meals a day natural? It isn't. If you look at how the caveman ate, he probably was doing something very similar to intermittent fasting. He would of went out hunting and would eat, when something was caught, and fast when something wasn't.
