You might think that your city or township will provide safe drinking water treatment so that when you turn on your tap, you don't have to worry about what's coming out.
If you think this, you couldn't be more wrong unfortunately.
Drinking water contamination is a real issue and not one to be taken lightly. The facts--not opinion--show that there are over 2,100--that's right, over two thousand—cancer-causing chemicals in the United States water supply.
This is the same stuff that comes out of your tap.
What this means is you simply cannot depend on your local government to ensure purified drinking water treatment.
A lot of people think they can get around this by going to the supermarket and buying bottled water, whether by the gallon or individual 12 fluid ounce bottles.
But, there is nothing about this water that is pure or safe either. I know it sounds preposterous since bottled water, ounce for ounce, costs more than gasoline. But it's true. It's just marketing hype. Images of mountain streams and glaciers, when in reality the water doesn't even come from those sources.
The FDA has even stated that any manufacturer of bottled water that tries to claim their product is safer than tap water is simply flat out lying. Actually, they don't say "lying" but they do say "defrauding the public." Which, in my opinion, sounds even worse!
So, what can you do to protect yourself?
The answer: start looking into whole house water purification systems. These systems are very economical--one time investments--that will pay health dividends for the rest of your life.
If you don't think spending a few hundred dollars on a high quality water filter system is a good investment to purify the most importance substance we put into our bodies--H2O--then you may not be serious about improving and maintaining good health.
All I know is that the statistics are alarming. Cancer has overtaken heart disease as the #1 killer in the Western world. And there are proven to be over two thousand cancer-causing chemicals in our water system. To me, the causation between the two is unmistakable, but you can draw your own conclusions.
A good water filter system for your home should remove all bad substances that are commonly found in our water system. Some examples include: chlorine, herbicides and pesticides, and even pharmaceutical drugs!
On the other hand, they should also not remove substances that are needed for vital health. The most important of these are minerals. Minerals like calcium, potassium, magnesium.
Unfortunately, most people have been educated to believe that the best types of water filtering products on the market are what are known as reverse osmosis systems.
Although reverse osmosis systems effectively remove contaminants, they also undesirably remove these minerals we need for good health.
If you are going to use a reverse osmosis system it's crucial you start to take a multi-mineral supplement so you don't end up with mineral deficiencies.
The best drinking water treatment systems, however, will remove dangerous chemicals but keep the minerals we need for our bodies intact. It may take a while for you to find such a system, but it's well worth the effort.
After all, your health depends on it.
